We have already admitted our sneaker obsession which is why it comes as no surprise that we are now talking about the newly updated Chuck Taylor All Star. Even with all the new sneakers that come into our lives, the one sneaker that has always been constant for us has been Converse. We wore them as kids, teens and now still wear them, though we have toned down our funky color choices (our teenage years were an interesting time). When we first heard the news of the All Star revamp we were skeptical of what the classic could really need and if they were going to completely change the sneaker we have loved for so long. After seeing the "perks" of the new style, we can see that the people at Converse have essentially given the original a little face lift. For one they have taken advantage of their parent company Nike and used their technology to put in a sock liner for more cushioning and support. Secondly, they put in more padding in the tongue to make it more comfortable along with perforated micro-suede on the inside of the shoe. Last upgrade is the quality canvas now used to create each sneaker. Overall the changes are not dire but they are exactly what was needed to launch the classic into 2015 and beyond. Chuck Taylor All Star II starts at $70. Get a pair here.
